What is filariasis? Filariasis or elephantiasis is characterised by the gross enlargement of  limbs or areas of the trunk or head. There is an abnormal accumulation of watery fluid in the tissues causing severe swelling. The skin usually develops a thickened, pebbly appearance and may become ulcerated and darkened. Fever, chills and a general feeling of ill health may be present

What is lichen planus? Cutaneous form of lichen planus is an intensely itchy skin disease that  mostly leaves pigmented post-treatment scars on the skin.

What is Vitligo? Vitligo, commonly called ‘leucoderma’ is the appearance of single or multiple depigmented (white) patches on the body. This is an acquired skin condition that results from loss of functioning malanocytes (cells that produce skin colouring). In India the disease is associated with social stigma, and those affected face seclusion causing severe psychological problems.
