Prof. Terence J Ryan

Emeritus Prof both at Oxford and Oxford Brooks University, UK

 

Professor Terence Ryan is a retired Professor of Dermatology and now Emeritus at both Oxford and Oxford Brookes Universities. His main role is to take skin care into the Villages of the Developing World. Mostly he focuses on Allied Health professionals. He has contracts in Tanzania to train Africans to hold responsible positions in Health Care. There has been an initiative in Mali to provide one day training courses to all Health Centre personnel about common diseases to reduce costly and ineffective prescribing consequent on wrong diagnosis. His Programme in India focuses on Integrating Asian Systems of Medicine with Biomedicine. This programme concerns Lymphoedema, Leprosy, Vitiligo and HIV/AIDS. He has a contract in China for retraining one million village doctors which is an education cascade from city to town to village.

 

He guided the Lymphatic Filariasis treatment program of the Institute of Applied Dermatology 

He led many institutions in England that includes department of dermatology Oxford. He is the professor of England designated by queen of England
